Blog Posts now on Hold

At Hope School we now use "Seesaw learning journals" for our students to share their school experiences with family and friends. So there will not be many (if any) Posts added to this Blog from now on. This Blog will still be used as a portal to other sites for the Room 3 students and may be reactivated as a shared space at any time we feel necessary. In the meantime if your child is in Room 3 at Hope School, please feel free to contact your child's teacher to get the 'log in' instructions to view their Seesaw Learning Journal. Thanks.

Our Shared Reading activity

We read a book called Squeak.

The tired little mouse was making a lot of noise in the barn ,while he was sleeping and all the other animals in the barn woke up and left. The poor little mouse woke up and was all alone.

 Room 2, 3 and 4 travelled into Nelson on the bus to visit the Brook Sanctuary. We got to look for mini beasts in the bush and we had a lovely walk in the predator free native bush.

 Today Imani and her mum brought in the duckling that they are hand rearing. We all got to hold and pat it.

Lunch Time and finally a sunny day at School to start our year.

 2022 started with a very wet couple of days so not much fun for the start of school. But today a great big sunny day again. So some happy children.

Our Fridge Magnet Company

 As part of our school wide Financial Literacy focus Room 3 created a company and made fridge magnets to sell at our school market day...The kids loved being shop keepers!!

Making Rockets

 We made some rockets...then took them outside to add baking powder and vinegar....Watch our video to see what happened.

A visit from Ben and Josh's lambs

 Two little lambs came to school today...they weren't Mary's though. They belonged to Ben and Josh.

Science Investigation

 We have been looking at heat energy and today we used thermometers to track the heat of porridge and saw how it cooled down over time. We made a graph of our results.

Life Education

 We had the Life Education truck visit our school......Learning all about our emotions and how we         recognise our feelings.

Going on a pirate adventure.

A pirate arrived at school. He showed us lots of pirate things that he had in his trunk. He even had a Treasure Map! And guess what.....   He left it behind.

So we are off to find the treasure. It looks like we are off to  Mapua then over on the Ferry to Rabbit Island...Oh what an adventure!

Room 3 Cross Country

 Our Annual cross country was held at Rabbit Island again this year. It was a great day and everyone tried their best.

Later in the day we spent time having fun on the beach.
