There is a barrier between them (in our case a book) One child gives instructions to the other telling them where on their own board to place the game pieces. It is a case of listening carefully and following the instructions completely. You are not supposed to look at the other childs board!

Barrier Games
We have been using barrier games to help us learn positional language like left or right and above or below. These games are also a great avenue for listening and giving instructions.
The idea is two children have their own game board and game pieces, They are all identical to each others. There is a barrier between them (in our case a book) One child gives instructions to the other telling them where on their own board to place the game pieces. It is a case of listening carefully and following the instructions completely. You are not supposed to look at the other childs board!
