Looking at Shapes

We have been learning about shapes in Room 3 and we discovered... we can find shapes anywhere!
We took the iPads out to our school grounds to see what shapes we could see there.

Here  are the photos we took...........

The next day we made some shape monsters.....I wonder if you can spot the many shapes we used.

Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies

Most of this term has been spent practising for our School's Production of "Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies" Room 3's part in this performance was to play a group of Boy Scouts. The children practised and performed their role brilliantly. At Hope School we put on a production like this every second year. It is always lovely to see all of our children gain in confidence on the stage.
Below are a few photos. Later in the term there will be a DVD of the show available from the school office if you are interested.

Our A and P Show Creations

Today we worked on our entries for the A and P show. We decorated biscuits, made some Fruit or Vegetable Creations and then made some Sand Saucers full of beautiful flowers.
I hope you can get down to the Richmond Show grounds over the weekend to see our great work. Keep a look out for our Gingerbread men as well.

Junior Athletics at Appleby school

On the 9th of November Room 3 and 4 children travelled out to Appleby School  to take part in some fun athletic activities. The weather was amazingly hot (for a change). We had a super morning and meet lots of new people too. Thanks to the parents who came and helped with transport and some of the activities.

Eva's puppies came to school

We had a very cute couple of puppies come to see us. They were so quiet and calm in the classroom. I think they would have been very happy to stay with us, and the kids would have been very happy to have them! Thanks Eva and your mum for bringing them in.

Our Gingerbread men are finished

We have finished sewing our gingerbread men and they have now been sent to the A and P Show grounds to be on display in the children's handcraft section. Go along on Saturday the 19th and have a look at them. They look great. It was fun learning some new skills and I think the children really gained from this new experience. Sewing on buttons was a bit of a challenge for some but the hand sewing around the outside was much easier. I think you'll agree they look pretty awesome!!
Thank-you to all of the parent helpers who came to support the children in this learning activity...I couldn't have done it with out you. Maybe one of us will win a ribbon??

Learning to use the keyboard correctly.

One of our learning tools at school is the school computers. Lately we have been learning how to use the keyboard. We are using a programme called KidPix where we draw a picture with the drawing tools then we typing out a story. There is a lot of learning involved in using the computer keyboards.
