End of Year "Big day Out"

On a journey to find the pirate treasure and to enjoy a whole school picnic at Rabbit Island.

The 2017 school year has come to an end. See you back at school on the 31st of January 2018.

The last Discovery session for 2017

Oh what fun it is to have Christmas just around the corner....
Our last Discovery session for this school year was filled with Christmas carol singing and making Christmas decorations.

      

Swimming Fun

It has been so hot at school lately, by the time the afternoon comes around we are all very ready for a dip in the pool.

Discovery Time with Room 4

Yesterday we joined in on Room 4's Discovery Time. We spent most of the time outside (well why wouldn't you on such a beautiful day) Have a look at all the things we did.

Yesterday we found a Pirate wandering around the school.

A pirate arrived at school. He showed us lots of pirate things that he had in his trunk. He even had a Treasure Map! And guess what.....   He left it behind.
So next week we are off on a Treasure Hunt.  I hope we get to the treasure before anyone else does..
The map will take us to Mapua then over on the Ferry to Rabbit Island...Oh what an adventure!

A and P Show 2017

Today we made our creations for the A and P Show.

First we decorated biscuits....we did two biscuits and chose one of them to enter into the A and P competition (the other one we ate for morning tea. Secondly we made our Fruit and Vege Creations. After morning tea we worked on our Sand Saucers.
Hopefully you get a chance over the weekend to get down to the show grounds to see ours and many other children's amazing work.

Discovery Time week 5

This week we had...cars in the sandpit, weaving, making a stickman, playing with blocks and skipping for our Discovery Time activities.
We were lucky and had some Room 1 children come and join in on our fun too.

                  

Dress up Discovery Day

Friday was Miss Chandler's last day with us in Room 3. So we celebrated her time here with a 'dress up discovery session' and ice cream. Yum!!

The activities we had were: making balloon rockets, lego, pretend tea party, construction with boxes, and rolling ice cream cones. Our life skill this term is "Thinking" and we are learning at the moment about 'making good choices'.

        

Athletics Day

Unfortunately our athletics day with Appleby School was cancelled this week due to wet weather, but we were able to get out and enjoy some activities later in the day anyway ...here we are doing Long Jump.
