Our Peanut Butter Factory Poems

I see people working
I hear the door slamming
I smell peanut butter
I taste smooth peanut butter
I feel scared of the crunching noise
I wish I could be at the factory longer.

Pics Peanut Butter Factory Tour

Today Room 3 and 4 visited the Peanut Butter factory in Richmond.
Did you know that peanuts grow under the ground?
It was a great visit and some very interesting facts were learnt...we saw many machines in operation. Thanks again to our great supportive parents who helped to drive us there.

Stopping Demo

Today we went out onto the road to watch a demonstration on how far a car continues to travel once the brakes have been applied. There were three different examples at three different speeds...20km, 50 km and 60km. It is interesting to see how long it actually takes a small car to come to a complete stop.
Hopefully your children with talk to you about this experience...many of us found it funny to see the plastic cut-out getting knocked over by the car. However back in the classroom we discussed whether this would be funny if these were real people crossing the road and how our families would all be feeling if it were us getting hit by a car.
