Road Safety

Today we had a road safety trip to Richmond...On our walk we were looking for sneaky driveways, busy carpark entrances, pedestrian crossings, traffic lights etc. After the walk around some streets we went to the Velodome for some bike safety experience.

Working with Shapes

Today we discovered that by using shapes we could actually make other shapes..eg two squares can make a rectangle...So take a look at what else we found....

       

Learning some dance moves

This term the whole school are learning to dance with a great Hip Hop dance instructor...
Room 3 children join with room 4 and have their sessions together every Thursday afternoon.

More Discovery Time Learning

Discovery Time and 'Relating To Others'
Learning how to get along with other people is an important Life Skill.
Today we were talking about Empathy and Compassion....wow big words when you are just 5 years old.... But learning about how other people might be feeling when we do things helps us to understand and perhaps change some of our behaviours to help them feel better.
Our activities for Discovery Time were....Dress-ups, making table, hockey- outside, Making mothers day cards, and autumn pictures.

    

Having lots of fun being curious learners

During maths we have been looking at shapes and investigating the amount of sides or corners they all have. There are a couple of photos among this Discovery Time slide show of our shape fun.
At Discovery Time this term we are looking at the Life Skill of 'Relating to Others' and all year we have a school wide focus on being 'curious learners'.
