We are all Readers...

We are all learning to be amazing readers...Learning to decode words, recognise high frequency words and think about whether what we are reading makes sense are all things we are learning to do in Room 3.

Discovery Time....So much learning

Lately we have been looking at "What good Learners do" Things like:  problem solving...working things out, ...making mistakes...learning from them,  setting goals....challenging ourselves, thinking creatively....trying new ways, asking questions...to gain more knowledge,  help others....share what you know, and keep trying...never give up.

Discovery Time is a great session to show these skills. Many of the kids are  Great Learners!!

Our School Hangi

As part of our Matariki celebrations this year we had a Hangi. Many of our students had never experienced a Hangi before. It was a great family event...Shame it wasn't particularly fine at night but still a fabulous evening.

A visit from Alva's Lamb

Today Alva and her mum bought in their pet lamb. We all got a chance to feed it with a bottle. 

Discovery Time week 2 Term 3

This weeks activities during discovery time were...experimenting with Baking soda and Vinegar, Making a mouse house from boxes, Ping pong balls and bats outside, flower arranging with artificial flowers and playdough, puzzles, counting with gems and marbles. 

Lots of fun as per usual.

Discovery Time Term 3 Week 1

Back at school for term 3 and another fun filled Discovery Time.

This term our Life Skill is "Thinking" .... Today we were focusing on using our imagination.

Our activities today were ...playdough-beads-and threading,  creating with boxes, a great car wash, floor games, and hut building.
