Measurement.
This term we are looking at the different aspects of measurement, eg.. length, time, weight and capacity as well as what objects or tools we can use to measure these different aspects.
We started this week with measuring length and used non standard units such as small cubes to do the measuring. We discovered that in order to make a correct measurement of an item we needed to use the same unit and make sure we started at one end of the object and measure all the way to the other end.

Cross Country
This week the whole school travelled to Rabbit Island for our school cross country...
Room 3 children did so well with their running. I was very proud of them!!
Barrier Games
We have been using barrier games to help us learn positional language like left or right and above or below. These games are also a great avenue for listening and giving instructions.
The idea is two children have their own game board and game pieces, They are all identical to each others. There is a barrier between them (in our case a book) One child gives instructions to the other telling them where on their own board to place the game pieces. It is a case of listening carefully and following the instructions completely. You are not supposed to look at the other childs board!

More Shapes
We can name lots of shapes now and we are also good at putting them into groups according to their characteristics....
