Today we were working together with our buddies to make flax flowers. Our Room 1 buddies had to teach us how to make them and we all had a go at weaving. We love working with our buddies and we love it even more when we can learn something new. Thank you Room 1 for your patience and for being so helpful.
Welcome to our blog. We are a class of year 0-1 students (5-6 yr olds) at Hope Primary School in New Zealand. Our teacher is Mrs Ross and this blog is a journal of our learning experiences while we are here in Room 3.

Sign Language at School
Last week was NZ Sign language week. At school we had a visit from a lady who taught us some signs that we could use at school or with our friends and family. We learnt how to sign our names by finger spelling and we also learnt how to sign some colours and some animal names. In Room 3 we had a discussion about the times when people would need to communicate in Sign. Can you imagine going through life never hearing the sound of the waves or your Mum and Dads voice!!
You might be interested in learning some other signs...you can visit this web site for some demonstrations on how to do them.
Here are the photos of us learning some sign language with Room 4 children.
