Our Daffodil Art

We have been learning how to draw daffodils and then we looked at what colours they are so we could paint ours. We were able to use crayons to make our backgrounds a bit more effective.

Term 3 has come to an end. See you in Term 4.

One of our Dance Presentations

Unfortunately I had a bit of a technical issue today when I was trying to video all of our dances and I have only ended up with the first one of the dances (Well  most of it anyway).
Oops sorry about that. It was a great turn out...Thank you.

Lots more fun

During Discovery Time this week our activities were: A science experiment with baking soda, vinegar and food colouring, having marble races, moulding goo, pretend shops, construction with boxes and working on our daffodils.
We were trying to "Challenge ourselves to try something new or try a new way of doing something"

Intense concentration

This term we have learnt how to use our classroom blog as a portal to many Maths and Literacy activities. We have also had reminder lessons on Studyladder and learnt a completely new programme called Monster Reading.
When you consider the amount of skills and knowledge these 5 year olds need in order to use a computer successfully, they do a lot of learning in a very short time.  What comes naturally to you and I as adults is a major challenge for them and they do become very skilful at these tasks. They have to learn things like:  how to navigate a finger on a mouse pad to move an arrow on a screen, co-ordinating a click of the pad with where the arrow needs to be, turning on is different to shutting down, passwords to remember, how to turn the sound up and down or off/on, the keyboard letters aren't in alphabetical order and not to mention the letters are capitals. This is probably a short list but all these things require massive concentration. Well done Room 3!

                     

Our Country fair is this Saturday

I hope you are coming to our School Fair on Saturday....
In Room 3 today we made lollies to be sold.... Come along and buy some.

Clown Paintings

We have been working on some clown paintings for a while and they are now finished.
We enjoyed doing them so much that we also did a smaller version for our 2017 calendar orders.

Whacky Hair Disco

Today at Lunch time we had a Disco.
What a lot of fun....think we should do this again sometime.

Discovery Time 2-9-16

Today it was 'Whacky Hair' day so in our photos of Discovery Time you will also see some of our fancy hair.
Our activities this week were: marble tracks, making a car from toilet rolls, creating a balloon face, and making  Fathers Day cards.
Our Life Skill this term is "Thinking" and we are specifically trying to "Think Creatively"
